GameStop Confirms Upcoming PS5 Restock Dates

gamestop has confirmed the dates for its next PlayStation 5 revival for September 2022, and PowerUp Rewards Pro members will get the first dibs as usual. GameStop has regularly restocked Sony’s PlayStation 5 console since the system first launched in November 2020, usually as part of bundles that come with accessories, gift cards, and video games. The latest GameStop PS5 resupply will be similar, though details on what the bundles include are not available at the time of this writing.

The latest GameStop PS5 bundles may reflect what previous bundles have offered, but it’s also possible that customers will have different options available. The PS5 bundle restocking is said to be an “all stores” event, but it may be best to call ahead and confirm that your local GameStop will have PS5 bundles in stock.

This latest GameStop PS5 restock for September 2022 will take place on Saturday, September 24 for PowerUp Rewards Pro members. For the uninitiated, GameStop’s PowerUp Rewards Pro membership is the company’s fee-based loyalty program. For $14.99 per year, GameStop customers can enroll in the PowerUp Rewards Pro program and get various discounts, points on purchases, and more. Since the launch of the PS5, one of the main benefits of being a member of PowerUp Rewards Pro is having the opportunity to purchase PS5 consoles before the general public.

If GameStop locations fail to sell their PS5 console bundles during the final restocking event on September 24, non-PowerUp Rewards Pro members will have a chance to get a console the following day, Sunday September 25. As you can imagine, PS5 console supplies will be extremely limited in this latest restocking, so any potential GameStop customers should keep that in mind.

Sony recently indicated that it was ramping up PS5 production for the upcoming holiday season, so hopefully it will be easier for those interested to get their hands on a console, at least compared to 2020 and 2021. The continuing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, resellers, chip shortages, and other issues may continue to make it difficult for fans to get their hands on a PS5 console. Unfortunately, it can be quite a while before one can walk into a store and walk out with a PS5 console in tow.

For now, the easiest way for someone to get a PS5 console without paying a reseller would be to sign up for programs like GameStop PowerUp Rewards and try their luck at one of these restock events. Those who don’t want to shop at GameStop can try their luck at other retailers, as the Walmart+ subscription program also gives subscribers exclusive access to new PS5 consoles.
